Senior Writer-Generalist, NYC

As a member of the Hook & Loop Communications team, the Senior Writer – Generalist works closely with the Associate Creative Director (ACD) and the Senior Director of Communications (DC) to identify, prioritize and execute content for and about Hook & Loop and its products and processes. The Senior Writer works across channels, demonstrating superior writing and editing and an understanding of best practices by channel.

• Working with the DC, the ACD and other Comms team members to build and evolve the H&L content strategy for the organization as a whole and for individual projects
• Understand, monitor, and execute against best practices in each channel: print, web, social, email, marketing and advertising collateral, video
• Understand the business objectives and competitive set and formulate how messaging can be crafted based on context, white space and H&L’s/Infor’s POV to differentiate H&L and Infor.
• Edit and proofread work, your own and others
• Participate in ideation, brainstorming and strategy sessions as requested and guide them in creative, yet productive directions
• Meet deadlines; communicate in advance inability to meet deadlines and/or other concerns; track time against allocations on a weekly basis; do what is needed to deliver

Strategize, ideate, prioritize, research, write, and repurpose copy/content as needed for:

• Product pages for and
• Additional content for and
• Case studies (written and video)
• White papers and other thought leadership collateral
• In-App content for H&L created solutions
• Presentations
• Blog posts (including some ghostwritten on behalf of H&L leadership)
• Infographics
• Positioning documents
• Video scripts
• Social media
• Organizational manuals and other documents
• Event signage and collateral

Content creation 65%

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Technology
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail required
• Ability to manage multiple project concurrently and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Experience with/understanding of mobile applications

Minimum Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of related job experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong editing experience
• Great organizational skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and project management
• Self motivated and monitoring
• Eager to contribute

• Some stress may occur at times
• Ability to work across multiple time zones (requires some meetings before/after regular business hours to accommodate)
